Teacher: Lu Jong 1
I was born under the Rocky Mountain bluebird skies of Colorado and raised on the shimmering shores of Maui, Hawaii. In 2012, I lived in Kathmandu, Nepal where I studied Buddhist Studies at Rangjung Yeshe Institute. Living in Nepal, immersed in Buddhist culture, was a life changing experience that opened my eyes both to the power of the mind and to the power of the human spirit.

In 2014, I graduated from Humboldt State University in Northern California with a B.A. in Anthropology and Religious Studies. I currently live in Hawaii and spend a tremendous amount of time in the ocean which has opened my heart to the power of the natural world. Since graduating I have expanded my studies of health and healing across cultures by receiving training in Western Herbalism and Hawaiian ethnobotany. It is my belief that medicine is not simply something you consume to feel better or a short lived prescriptive activity. Medicine is available all around us, and being healthy means finding balance in our bodies, minds, and spirits.

As a life long dancer, I see great benefit in physical movement. For me, Lu Jong weaves together a connection between my body and mind, the natural elements, and the subtle energetic systems of our universe. It truly is an invaluable exercise in the search for sacred balance. I am really excited to share this beautiful practice with others!
